Who we are All governors are volunteers and are selected in different ways determined by our Academy articles of Association Foundation governors appointed by the Diocese 8 Parent governors elected by the parents 2 Staff governors elected by the staff 2 Local governor appointed by the school 1 Co-opted governors appointed by the school. 1 We work as a corporate team Being a Governor involves a great deal of time and energy. We fulfil our role in the following ways. We meet at least 4 times a year in full governing body meetings, 3 times a year in our 3 committees, undertake school visits, both individually and as a group and become members of other working groups as necessary. In preparation for all this we need to read a great many papers and emails associated with our work. Governors are also expected to undertake a range of training-including initial induction and then on-going, in-house and external training to keep up to date with a range of responsibilities and developments in the field of education. We must observe complete confidentiality when asked to do so and sign a Code of Conduct at the start of each school year. We recognise and value the diversity of our school family and the uniqueness of each of its members and are always interested to hear from parents staff and members of the community via the school office. However, queries relating to particular pupils should always be directed to school staff first as they have procedures to deal with most matters.  Please see relevant policies on the school website.
